you are hereJan 04, 2022
On the last day of 2021, we hiked to the top of Squaw Peak in Pheonix. Walking and hiking for me are an opportunity to connect my mind, body and spirit.
I realized as I was climbing along that every single step mattered. Whenever I found myself getting distracted and took my attention off the current step, I felt unstable and anxious, I risked tripping. When I stayed focused, my footing was secure and I could climb with trust and confidence. The hike was a great metaphor for kicking off the new year.
Be present to the step you are in.
It's amazing how often we lose our way because we are focused on what's behind us or afraid of what's ahead. What would this year be like for you, if you were more present to where you are right now? What if you trusted you were right where you needed to be?
Trust the process. Take small actions towards what you want most. Be present to the gifts you are given everyday. May this be your best year yet!
